Russian Webmasters Union meeting results

On June 23, 2006 an on-line conference of the Webmasters Union of Russian was held on www.webmastera.org.
Objectives of the conference were to set new tasks, determine forms of mutually beneficial cooperation and priority directions of the Union activity in the regions.
Conference audience comprised more than 43 representatives of organizations from 10 Russia’s regions. Participants had an on-line discussion of relevant issues, offered their proposals on developing Union’s activity in Russia and internationally.
Regional representatives were mostly interested in mutually beneficial cooperation through organizing branches and implementing educational projects.
Conference participants approved the official report of 2005 about the Union activity prepared by the Council of the organization. After getting acquainted with drafts of new objectives and tasks, the active discussion resulted in developing a program of the Union activity focused on incorporating organizations and individuals based on their professional status, on developing business relations, educational activity in the field of IT, active propaganda of Internet use throughout Russia.
Major directions in the activity of the Union were determined:
- Assistance in developing effective technologies for making and promoting websites for organizations of various patterns of ownership;
- Execution of scientific research and analytic works;
- Provision of adequate help and protection of Union members interests;
- Assistance in improving the quality of resources of the Russian Internet by introducing voluntarily certification and standardization of provided services;
- Assistance in educating individuals to computer technologies and in personality development;
- Representation of goods manufactured in Russia on the international market and development of international business contacts through web technologies.
