The broadcasting was watched by Internet users from all over the world on the website of the Internet expedition.
Expedition participants consisting of representatives of IT-companies (MTU–Intel, SpyLog, etc.), most of which had no mountain climbing experience, set themselves a task to conquer the highest European peak – the Elborus mount (5642 m) and to execute web broadcasting from maximum possible level.
After the expedition was over, the participants firmly stated that use of new capabilities of Internet technologies will make mountain climbing much safer, improve work of search and rescue teams, open new tourist destinations in Prielbrusie and Kabardino-Balkaria. We also hope that this action will attract attention of Russians and foreigners to the national park “Prielbrusie” as a unique wilderness area and an excellent place for leisure and health improving.
